Summertime Tex Mex Western

Nobody loves western like I love western (clothes that is). I should have lived on the Ponderosa and married a man named Hoss. As a matter of fact, I'm so enamored with it, it was one of the first looks I debuted on this blog and this post is merely an excuse to show off my summer version. All that's missing is the pistols!

This photo represents my three great western finds for the month.
The scarf immediately said "Tex-Mex" to me:
 $1
The white jeans are boot cut Meronas and still had the tag: $6
And best of all, these Jessica Simpson cowboy "boot" slides/mules: $3.50
(check out the close up below)

The Crow's Nest is where all my fantasy western gear is. I go there for inspiration. It's kind of pricey, but a girl can dream right?

Well I don't know about you, but I'm ready to ride off into the sunset and start my weekend. See y'all back here on Monday. Hi-yo Silver!

  1. Yippee Ki-Yay!!! You look fabulous!! don't you love it when you score something with the original price tags on it???? I got a Grace Elements Rayon knit cardigan at the Salvation Army for $1 with the $68 price tag still on it!!

LOVE those mules!!! They would work with tights and a maxi come fall!!!

  2. Very cute. I'm not familiar with Western fashion but you seem to have thrown a lasso and hogtied it.

  3. You can pull this off, whereas most folks can't, as far as I'm concerned. You look great. Love the colors of the top, white jeans are always good, and the shoes are a steal!! Had to laugh about the Crow's Nest link. There's a club here called the Crowe's Nest ("for the grown and sexy"). Looks like you've got the perfect outfit.

  5. I'm grinning from ear to ear right now. I bet you just love Bonanza reruns on AMC channel, am I right? LOL
Seriously though, I love the fabric on that scarf top. I'd have to have that if I saw it. And, we'd have to fight over Hoss Cartright. I love a big strapping manly man on a horse with a gun. ;)

"With a gun and a rope and a hatful of hope,
    we planted our family tree,
we got hold of a potful of gold,
    Bonanza!"

  6. I grew up in a family that rowed and showed horses, but the western look never caught my eye. You'd love some of the outfits the ladies wear into the show ring these day, kind of like the Miss America Pageant and Gunsmoke got married.

I'm still fascinated by how good scarves as shirts look on you. Great thrifting deals on your fantasy duds!

  8. I love this summer outfit! Do you wear a strapless bra under the scarf or just go au naturale? I'd worry about boob sweat. I have yet to find a pair of white jeans that I feel look good on me but I'm not giving up. Robyn

  9. There are times when I wear a strapless, but usually it's au naturale :)

  11. The slides/booties are great! What a buy for $3.50! I have a quite a few clogs/slides/backless shoes and they are actually my favourite for weekends.
